Learning Allegro is able to offer private music lessons on most instruments.
Our instructors are available to teach all levels from beginner to advanced. Private lessons are centered around
each students learning style and ability level. The focus of every lesson is developing strong technique
and creative a love of music and learning that will help every student reach his or her musical goals.

Kathleen Bontio - Piano
Kathleen holds a degree in Music/Audio Recording from William Patterson University where she studied audio engineering with Bob Both, Jim Barg and Karen Kohler. She has studied classical piano with concert pianist Christine Harvey and has been teaching privately since 1996. Kathleen has a patient and positive technique that helps even our youngest students succeed. She incorporates theory instruction into each lesson and is also able to help students with sogwriting or audio recording.
Michael “Mickey” Dorff - Guitar, Bass
Mickey teaches electric and acoustic guitar as well as electric and upright bass. Mickey attended the Napoli School of Music where he studied under Mike Gallagher who instilled a love of music that Mickey now passes to all of his students. Mickey performs with many different groups in a variety of styles. He has performed many notable venues from Philadelphia and New Jersey to New York, most recently including the Trocadero and the Kimmel Center. Mickey is well versed in music theory and focuses on ear training and modal theory and he is able to teach music theory lessons to individuals who do not play a stringed instrument. Mickey is able to play and teach a wide range of musical styles from metal, jazz, and acoustic/folk to rock, hip-hop, funk and reggae. He is able to teach all ages from 7yrs to adults and all levels from beginners to advanced musicians. He tailors every lesson to the student's individual areas of improvement to help each and every student become the best musician he or she can be.
Greg Fain - Guitar
Greg has been a professional guitarist and songwriter for nearly 25 years.
He attended the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston and graduated with a BA in Professional Music.
Greg has performed regularly with various bands in the PA, DE and NY areas.
He has a diverse background in many different genres of music including rock, jazz, folk, blues, funk and reggae.
Greg has been teaching guitar regularly for 20 years to students from age 6 to 60 -- from beginners to advanced students.
He stresses the fundamentals of the guitar in his lessons including scales, chords, improvisation and music theory,
but he also adapts his lessons to each students particular needs and style of music they enjoy.
Mary Lanigan - Piano
Mary Lanigan is a classically trained pianist who first developed a love of music at age five when she started piano lessons in the suburbs of Harrisburg, PA. She graduated in May 2007 magna cum laude from West Chester University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a minor in Voice. She studied baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary piano works under the instruction of Dr. Richard Veleta. She also participated in three choral ensembles while at WCU; Cantari Donne, Master Singers and Concert Choir. In 2007, Mary toured the southern base of Florida with West Chester's Concert Choir led by Dr. David DeVenney as an alto I. In her free time, Mary accompanies for weddings and church services in the local area. Mary is able teach ages five to adult, beginner to advanced pianists. Mary enjoys introducing a variety of musical styles during lessons such as classical, pop, rock, ragtime, basic jazz and blues. She has a passion and enthusiasm for teaching music, helps her students progress step-by-step toward musical goals and loves to see her students smile when they perform their favorite pieces.
Rich McKenzie - Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Cello
Rich McKenzie has been playing and teaching in the Philadephia and South Jersey Area since 1985. His instruments include Guitar, Electric and Double Bass. He also teaches Mandolin and Cello. Numerous styles include. Folk, Rock,Rockabilly,Blues and Jazz.Residing in Downingtown also has teaching expierence in "Thresholds Decision Making" and Tai Chi.
Wendy Provencher - Violin, Viola, Piano
Wendy, the creator of Learning Allegro,
has been an musician for over 25 years. She studied
music under the teaching of Steven Wolosonovich and the
direction of Robert Eschbach, Roman Pawlowski, and
Ovidiu Marinescu. Wendy developed her technique at both
University of New Hampshire and Immaculata University where she currently
performs with the Immaculata Symphony. Wendy currently takes piano lessons from Julliard graduate Dr. Ori Steinberg.
In addition to teaching private violin, viola and piano lessons, Wendy teaches toddlers beginning music theory through Learning Allegro's music circles.
Wendy understands how to uniquely tailor each music
lesson to the individual student, while maintaining a standard
of excellence that builds a strong foundation for continued

Daniel Reifsnyder - Songwriting, Voice, Piano
Daniel Reifsnyder has been steeped in music from a young age, both as a writer and a performer. Having over 600 songs to his name, he began writing songs at age 6, and playing piano and singing at 3. He was one of the youngest published songwriters in the world, being published at age 10. He has won numerous awards from ASCAP, as well as a recent Billboard World Song Contest honor. Having studied with some of the world's most prominent vocal and piano coaches - Bill Riley (teacher of Faith Hill, Celine Dion, Nora Jones, and Destiny's Child), Carlo Lifavi Menotti (Tony Bennett, Nancy Sinatra, Judy Garland) and Philly Walk of Fame legend Russ Faith, he brings their years of expertise - as well as his own - to each lesson. Daniel has helped many of his students achieve their musical goals - whether in musical theater, singing in a local club, or touring the world with a rock band.
Although Daniel's true passion is music, he has also had a successful acting career since age 8, appearing in commercials such as Day's Inn, Wendy's, General Mills Cereals, and more. He has also sung on thousands of jingles and recordings, including "My Christmas Tree" for Home Alone 2, The Magic Schoolbus theme (w/Little Richard), and backup vocals on a yet to be released Micheal Jackson track. Daniel is available for private lessons as a vocal coach, piano instructor, and one on one songwriting classes.
Elicia Reynolds - Violin
Elicia began violin lessons at age five, and was requested by the youth conductor to join the Palm Beach Youth Symphony a year later. She performed numerous concerts including a performance at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. When her family relocated to Parrish, Florida in 1999, she joined the Florida West Coast Youth Symphony and performed with them for six consecutive years, serving as concert mistress several times. At the age of thirteen, she auditioned for and joined The Venice Symphony during the 2004-2005 season. Currently in her seventh consecutive season, she is performing with them as assistant principal second violin. In addition to the Venice Symphony, she has also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons from 2006 to 2008. In 2010, she joined The South Shore Symphony Orchestra and performed as assistant concert mistress and as concertmistress. She also joined Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra and is performing with them for the 2010-2011 season. Recently, she relocated to the South Philly and is now performing with the Delaware County Symphony and the Rose Tree Pops. Over the years she has performed with Stephen on a number of occasions for weddings, Christmas shows, and restaurant events.
Stephen Reynolds - Violin
Stephen began violin lessons at age three. When his family relocated to Parrish, Florida in 1999, he joined the Florida West Coast Youth Symphony at age six and performed with them for six consecutive years, serving as concert master andassistant concert master. He then auditioned for The Venice Symphony and wasaccepted at age thirteen, the 2006-2007 season. He has performed with them for three consecutive seasons. In addition, he has also performed with the Sarasota Pops for two seasons from 2006 to 2008. He then joined The South Shore Symphony Orchestra in 2010, and performed with them for their first five concerts and has served as principal second violin. He also has joined Anna Marina Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra and has performed with them for the 2010-2011 season. In February of 2011, he relocated to the South Philly suburbs and is currently performing with the Delaware County Symphony and the Rose Tree Pops. Throughout the years, Stephen has performed with Elicia in a number of events, including weddings, Christmas shows, and restaurant entertainment.
Andy Vernon - Cello, Drums, Guitar, Bass
Andy, described by many as a "musician's musician" for his proficiency on multiple instruments, has been playing, composing, and studying music since 1988. Andy studied cello under Charles Depasquale and Mary Belczyk, respectively, for eight years, and studied drums under John Simone for five years. Andy is mostly self-taught on guitar, upright (double) bass, and bass guitar (fretted and fretless). A contributing member of countless projects, Andy has toured and played in many cities ranging from Boston, MA to Key West, FL. Andy has opened up for several national acts including 30 Seconds to Mars and Minus The Bear.
A private music instructor of eleven years, Andy is extremely committed to helping each of his students become precisely the musicians that they want to be. Andy believes that patience and positive reinforcement are two critical traits of every great teacher and incorporates both into his individually-tailored lessons. Andy teaches cello, drum, guitar, and bass lessons to students of all skill levels, age six or older.
